Rivers and streams are cool things to learn about. We danced/motioned our way through the water cycle. Remember percolation and run off have been added to the water cycle since fifth grade. There are four types of rivers and they have special characteristics. The load, gradient, and discharge determine the formation of rivers and streams. Don't forget about the difference between erosion and deposition. Talk to parents about how rivers deposit their sediments and the effects. Visit you tube and look at groundwater. Wow! We have covered a lot this year. Chapter one we looked at the scientific method, metric measurements of graduated cylinders, triple beam balances, and meter sticks. We learned how to Cha slide as we move decimals to convert from kilometers to millimeters. We learned how to read the curved surface called the meniscus. Talk to your parents about what is happening in class. |
